Planning: Recasting
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the actor that I have planned to use for my music video, is now unable to take part. This has meant that I have had to find a new actor to play the role of the male teacher.
Previously, I held auditions for potential actors. Four actors performed in the auditions and I chose Will as the most suitable for the role. He had previous acting experience at a local performing arts centre as well as achieving an A* at GCSE and is now studying A level drama. Additionally, his characteristics met that of what I desire for my music video. In the week leading up to the filming dates, this actor messaged me to tell me that he would be unavailable for filming on theses days. Due to time restrictions and deadlines regarding all the filming locations and editing deadlines, I had to make the decision to recast.
The actor that I will now be using is called Ollie. I had auditioned him for my AS level production and so I knew that he would be able to follow the shot list and my direction. He has a very similar appearance to the previous actor that I cast, except he doesn't wear glasses. This means that he can easily replace the role of the previous actor, without much alteration to the planning of the shots.
