My digipak will consist of a four panel layout, with a front cover, back cover, spine, interior and CD holder. The purpose of these panels is to show the vital information needed to show the consumer all: the album name, contents, partnering agencies (production teams etc.), the artists name and hold the CD within it.
Here is an example of how the digipak will look before construction:
This is what the interior looks like once folded:
And this is the template that I will be using to construct the digipak:
Another thing that I will need to include is a barcode. This will contribute to the realism and authenticity of the CD cover. I will place this in the bottom right hand corner of the back of the CD cover. This is typically where a barcode is found on a CD cover and would serve for practicality purposes.
Then the album art on the front will consist of an image developed into a line drawing of the protagonist. This will be complimented by various live looking foliage around the corners and the title in the top left hand corner in the same style as the Catfish and the Bottleman album I analysed. Here are some examples of the types of images that I will use and transform into line artwork:
Dependant on the appearance, I will colour the background of the album in a pastel colour, possibly textured. These are the types of colours that I will use to create the colour pallet for the digipak:
The cover art work will be created using photoshop and Illustrator. Here are some mages that depict the style and type of subjects that I will be creating my art like:
